I am Zen’s Mom. I studied photography for a few years. I love your photos. I am assuming you are using filters and tripod to achieve some of these wonderful shots. Zen said you do not photo shop prints. You are giving me the bug again! Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Cathy! Thanks for taking a look, and for your kind words! I do use filters, mostly neutral density & polarizer, and a tripod. I do work on my images in Lightroom & Photoshop, though – digital cameras capture scenes with very low contrast, saturation, and sharpness, so they always need to be “developed” to look anything like the scene appeared to your eyes.
I also use Photoshop to get the mood and feeling I want for an image, to try to evoke something of the feeling in the person viewing the image that I had when I was out in nature making it. Sometimes that’s a straightforward rendering of the image, sometimes it’s an abstract rendering, and often it’s something in between.
